Welcome parents, family and friends of U16’s! We’re thrilled to be able to host NENSA’s U16 Championships this
season, and welcome you to Bethel. This year we will utilize two of our in-town trail systems, with two races at
Bethel Village Trails and two on the Gould Academy Pine Hill Trail system. Below you’ll find details for the race
days on waxing, directions, banquet, awards, etc. And if you can’t find what you need, give us a call or shoot us
an email: 207-824-6276, [email protected] Happy spectating!
Bethel Village Trails (BVT), a non-profit trails center located at The Bethel Inn Resort, will be our home base. We
are located next to the Millbrook Tavern on the back side of the Inn. The address is 21 Broad St, Bethel, 04217.
Athletes and coaches will have exclusive use of the Inn’s Event Center, located just behind the Historical Society
on Broad St. and across from the Inn. The Event Center has space for waxing, bag storage, bathrooms, and
general “hang out” time. It will be open before noon on Friday and teams will have full use of the space until
Sunday afternoon. You will probably be able to find your skier here when not on the trails. Please leave any food
or gear for your skier at the Event Center, as we will be tight on space at BVT.
Races on Friday and Saturday morning will take place at Gould’s trail system, Pine Hill. This is located 1⁄4 mile up
Grover Hill Road off Rt. 5 in Bethel. There are two connector trails between the BVT and Pine Hill systems (see
map), so we encourage people to ski from BVT to Pine Hill for races. Saturday afternoon and Sunday races will
be at BVT, and will allow for excellent spectator viewing from the Inn.
Parking for spectators is available in any of the Bethel Inn lots, along Broad St, Main St, and the lot behind the
Event Center/Northeast Bank. Church St parking is available except on Sunday morning. For Pine Hill races,
there is limited parking in the two lots on Grover Hill. There is NO parking on Grover Hill Road or Mill Hill Road;
we highly recommend parking in town and skiing to Pine Hill, carpooling, or walking. Please see attached map
for parking areas, roads and trail connections.
Schedule and Courses:
Below are course maps and the schedule of events. Spectating areas will be marked and easy to find. Skiing
on the race courses will not be allowed but skiing will be available on the rest of the BVT trails.
A wax room will be made available for the weekend. The “hut” has outlets but no profiles–please bring your
own bench or clamps and iron. It is located to the right of the Bethel Inn as you are looking at it from Broad St.
Portable toilets will be available at Pine Hill for the first two races. Bathrooms at BVT are located at the trails
center, upstairs in the Bethel Inn, the fitness center and the event center.
Space at the Saturday night banquet is limited; we are sorry that there is only room for athletes and coaches.
Friends and family can grab a bite to eat in the Millbrook Tavern (just downstairs from the dining room at the
Bethel Inn), then walk upstairs to watch the awards ceremony and raffle at 7pm (standing room only).
Food on site: The Millbrook Tavern is open Friday at 3pm and Saturday-Sunday at noon for lunch and dinner.
Within walking distance is DiCocoa’s Bakery, Brian’s, Suds Pub, Butcher Burger, Kowloon Village, Bethel House
of Pizza, 22 Broad St., Cho Sun, and the local grocery store is also on Main St. Find more info here:
