Ida Sargent

  • Highlight Race to Date: I scrambled for the US team in the 4x5km World Cup relay at the opening World Cups in Gallivare, Sweden last winter.  It was my first World Cup and with all the fast skiers, crowds, cheering, tv cameras, and everything else that goes along with the World Cup scene, I was incredibly excited and nervous.  I went out way too hard and tried to stay with the front women for as long as I could.  They were fast but it was so much fun skiing with them and being at the front of the pack while racing against the fastest skiers in the world.  Then with about a kilometer to go, I blew up, bonked really hard and lost A LOT of time.  Still it was a great experience and a race that I will never forget.
