2010-2011 TD Bank Eastern Cup

Link to View Prior Year's TD Bank Eastern Cup Details: 09-10

The TD Bank Eastern Cup Series has been on the race calendar since the early years of NENSA, and is considered NENSA's signature race series. These races feature many of the nation's best cross-country skiers.  The Eastern Cup races offer competition for BKL, Junior, Senior and Master skiers, and double as the Junior Olympic Qualifyer races for the New England Junior Olympic Team. Licensed USSA members can earn National Ranking List points at any of this series desginated with "NRL" in in after the formats listing below, and FIS points at those with a "FIS" desgination.

One great feature of the Eastern Cup is that it although it attracts elite skiers, is not just for the very fastest cross-country ski racers.  Athletes of all speeds get to compete side-by-side with some of the nation’s best, and there is masters seed group that allows those over thirty to race together.  NENSA also offers wax support at all of the Eastern cups for skiers who are competing without their coach onsite and need assistance. NEWS UPDATE: December 13th, 5:00 PM:

The rain storm of the past 24 hours has ended in northern VT.  Temps are dropping back to freezing and the rain has turned to snow.  A lot of snow was lost, but not all of it.  As of right now, there is not enough snow at Craftsbury to hold the weekend races.  Conditions at the two current back-up sites (Trapp's and Jericho) are somewhat better, but neither site could host a race now without getting some additional snowfall.  The good news is that there is some additional snowfall in the forecast this week-but it's obviously too soon to know how much we'll get.

Given this situation, we ask your patience for another day or two, while we wait to see what Mother Nature will bring us for snow, and where it will fall most heavily.  It is likely that one or both of the race days would be moved to a back-up site.   We will make a final decision on Craftsbury at the latest, by wed at 9:00 AM  and communicate a final back-up site as soon as we can if we need to go in that direction.
It is also possible that technique or format of the races might need to be changed given the snow conditions.  Any such changes will be announced by Thursday morning at the latest.  Thanks for your patience.  Think snow!
