US Ski Team Announces 2012-2013 Nominations
Summary: Being named to the US Ski Team is an exciting accomplishment whether an athlete is a ‘first timer’ or rejoining the team.
Being named to the US Ski Team is an exciting accomplishment whether an athlete is a ‘first timer’ or rejoining the team.
It is also testament to a strong work ethic, diligence in pursuing goals and the ability to ski fast under pressure. Several New England athletes have shown the commitment and the results necessary to reach the higher levels of the sport and they also continue to make solid improvements in their performance.Kris Freeman, (Waterville Valley/BBTS) and Andrew Newell (Stratton Mtn School) are long standing members of the ski team and will return next year with an eye on Sochi.
Liz Stephen, (Burke Mtn Academy) had outstanding results this year on the World Cup and we look forward to seeing her back at it in 2013.
Ida Sargent (Crafstbury GRP/ Dartmouth) continues on the B team and made solid gains under the tutelage of her coaches Pepa Miloucheva and Cami Thompson-Graves, as well as women’s ski team coach Matt Whitcomb. Skyler Davis (Stratton Mtn School) rejoins the D team for the second year and will be bringing more experience and training to the table for next season.
