Kris Freeman (Andover, NH) wins National 50K over Tad Elliot

Summary:

Craftsbury Common, VT -- With relatively few of the race's 33 laps remaining, Kris Freeman and Tad Elliot, racing as teammates on Vail's Team Homegrown, made it a two man race.  In the end, Freeman edged Elliot by just over 1 second for the National Title.  The happy surprise of the day was Tim Reynolds, skiing for the home team (Craftsbury Green Racing Project) grabbing third place and his first national championship podium finish.
