As we have seen at US Nationals in recent years, the APU women's team can dominate on a good day and here we saw them sweep the podium with Sadie Bjornsen taking the win and grabbing the overall SuperTour Finals tour lead. Former Dartmouth College skier Rosie Brennan was 2nd with Holly Brooks third. Perhaps the only surprise of the day was seeing this year's breakout start in XC, Jessie Diggins, down in 6th place. Via Twitter, Diggins reported that perhaps a combination of ski selection and difficulty skiing in slush created additional challenges on the day.The men's leaders broke away fairly early and in the end it was just Noah Hoffman and Kris Freeman. Freeman earn the 2 second stage victory, but Hoffman was close enough to grab the lead in the SupeTour Finals tour standings. Erik Bjornsen was third.
Today features the adaptive sprint races at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center with the classic sprint, sure to shake up the overall standings taking place on Tuesday.
