New England 'To Do' List for the upcoming week!
Summary: Ski Season is not over just yet despite feeling like mid summer in some places! Many of you are just back from TD Bank Eastern High School Championships or Canadian Nationals, while others are heading north to Craftsbury for what is sure to be some of our most exciting racing of the season!
Ski Season is not over just yet despite feeling like mid summer in some places! Many of you are just back from TD Bank Eastern High School Championships or Canadian Nationals, while others are heading north to Craftsbury for what is sure to be some of our most exciting racing of the season!
I encourage you to come on up, bring your athletes and watch our Nation's (and World's!) best compete for SuperTour Champion and Distance National Titles. You can find out more, including the schedule, here: http://www.craftsbury.com/skiing/supertour/supertour.htm
New England once again had a fabulous trip to Junior Nationals, in Soldier Hollow, Utah. With 12 National titles and the 4th year in a row of bringing home the Alaska Cup, it could certainly be deemed a success. I believe though, that our long term success is measured in more than these race results. New England, without a doubt, has one of the most cohesive ski communities anywhere in the country. Coaches, fans, parents and athletes coming together to make the entire region stronger, and enabling this type of environment to flourish, is HUGE- and motivating for everyone. Thank you all for putting your heart and soul into the sport of cross country skiing!
You can help continue this momentum several ways:
- The NENSA summer camp schedule is posted online and many of you have put your names in the hat for coaching at one or more of these events. If you are interested and have not yet emailed me, you still have time! I will be putting together the logistics very soon. email Janice Sibilia at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- It is time to add your summer event, camp, clinic to the NENSA calendar! Just a $25 listing fee (no head tax) for all summer events and training camps. (For events without an entry fee, there is no listing fee.) To add your event go to:
Fill in completely following all instructions. Then email email@example.com to let us know you added it!
- And last but not least, NENSA is in the midst of our Annual Giving Campaign. You know that without the support of many people, we could not do what we do. Please take a moment and make a donation to support the programming NENSA offers, and, no matter the amount it all helps greatly! Link to donate
See you on the trails!
