April 24, 2012

So, what happens when we meet our goal with still a week to go in the Annual Fund Drive? First of all, I say a huge, "Thank you," to each of you who have helped us get to this point. It is exciting and motivating to see so many people stepping up to support this little organization with a big mission. This year we have seen families of youth skiers, supporters of our adaptive program, and those who love events like Women's Day join our traditionally strong racing families in supporting NENSA's efforts.

Did you miss out on donating? Don't worry, there is still a week left in the drive and I could make a pretty good argument for this being THE BEST time to donate to our Annual Fund. Why? With our past-year budget needs now taken care of, every dollar donated will go directly to NENSA's future. Last year when our fund exceeded expectations the board voted to create The Athlete Fund which provides grants for athletes to participate in competition and further built up our popular youth ski lease program.

$52,076 raised so far. 174% of our goal! THANK YOU

$5000 raised toward our $5000 matching challenge. THANK YOU!

$2 for every $1 toward the match; AND $10,000 additional reward for meeting the challenge!!!

Additionally, a donor to NENSA gets to be part of the fun; a member of a large group of contributors who love skiing and want to support its further development in New England.

In closing, I want to say thank you for helping us achieve our Annual Fund goals this season. Personally, it is a wonderful way for me to close out my career with NENSA; as each donation clicks through the system I feel more strongly just how many people value the work of the organization and share my own deep love of the sport. Thank you!

With much sincere thanks,

Pat Cote, Executive Director

Dear Members and Friends of NENSA,

Today NENSA launches the 2012 Annual Fund Drive. Despite the lack of snow across New England this winter, skiers still turned out in droves to enjoy their local BKL, junior, and masters club activities, our adaptive program continued to expand, and our events went on largely uninterrupted.

This year's goal of $30,000 by April 30 is ambitious. We need your help to get there. We hope that you will not only help us, but will also encourage your friends and family to do the same.

And please check back here often, cheer on our progress, and hear stories from our members and supporters!

Sincerely,

Patrick Cote, Executive Director

Annual Fund Donors:

Thanks to you, the NENSA 2012 Annual Fund drive was a tremendous success. Your support reflects a belief in the work being done here at NENSA and ensures continued expansion of our programming. We literally could not do it without you, and cannot thank you enough for your contribution.

It is surprising just how far each donation can go, regardless of amount. Last year we received well over $5,000 in contributions of less than $100. Pair that with the matching gifts from generous donors and it adds up quickly. Every gift truly helps, and we thank you for yours.

As an Annual Fund donor, you are a valuable stakeholder in NENSA and our grassroots development. We'd like to hear what you think of the programming and the service NENSA delivers to you and the New England Nordic community. Furthermore, we invite you to get involved as a volunteer with your local club, or at an event, or perhaps by joining one of the NENSA Committees that help drive the organization. At any level, your involvement is key, your feedback is welcome, and your continued support is critical.

Once again, thank you for your contribution to last year's Annual Fund drive. We hope we can count on you again for 2013. Until then...

 We'll see you out there,

Zach & the Team at NENSA
