2010-07-29: Trout Lake Training Camp Rocks!
The 10th annual JLS Sports trip to Trout Lake / Bend just wrapped up last Sunday.  This year word spread like wildfire among not only Western skiers but Easterners too.

2010-07-27: US Ski Team Coach Pat Casey to Head Holderness Nordic Program
We are thrilled to welcome recent USST coach Pat Casey to New England and also excited about the return of his wife Kristina (Joder) Casey to the region. Pat will be presenting at this fall's Nordic Symposium and we are sure that Pat and Kristina will be a big part of New England skiing for years to come!

2010-07-12: Central and Southern Maine Skiers - Come Check out the new Augusta Trails
Augusta Trails will be having weekly mountain bike rides, weather permitting, on the new trails at Bond Brook Recreation Area in Augusta Monday nights at 5 PM beginning Mon 7/12.  We will be riding 5-7 miles on both the Nordic ski trails and the single track mountain bike trails depending on the group's interests and desires.

Source: USST.  PARK CITY, UT (July 1) – Rounding out his third season with the U.S. Nordic Combined Team, Willy Graves (Putney, VT) announced his retirement at the conclusion of the 2009-10 winter season at age 23 to attend Westminster College as part of the Team's partnership..

Because of lack of registrants, I have decided to postpone Sunday's clinic.  I will look for a date closer to the ski season in the fall and welcome suggestions.

2010-07-08: 2nd NENSA / UNH Testing Day to Take Place August 20th
The second (and final for this year) testing day will take place on August 20th.  Lactate and VO2 Max Testing will be conducted by Dain LaRoche and staff at the University of New Hampshire campus.

2010-07-04: Deadline for NENSA REG U23/Senior Camp is July 10th!
This camp will provide U23 and senior athletes the opportunity to train with a group of their peers. The camp focus will be to provide 6 days of high level training.

2010-07-02: Exciting news for Middlebury Skiing!
Press Release: Middlebury College has been named the host school for the 2013 NCAA Skiing Championships. The Panthers are one of just two ski programs in the country that own and manage its own skiing facilities. Alpine events will take place at the Snow Bowl, while the Rikert Ski Touring Center will host the nordic races. Link to full story

2010-07-01: Eastern NENSA REG camp Wraps Up in Style!

The Eastern NENSA REG camp concluded yesterday with a tough skate rollerski time trial. A 6km uphill climb that provided a steep pitch for the start, followed by a less steep but very consistent grade for the remainder of the course.

The Eastern REG camp athletes went at it in the first hard effort of the week today in Elmore State Park. The goal: complete the uphill trail run with a maximal effort.

2010-06-22: Mt Washington running race sees Freeman Brothers taking top 20
Kris and Justin Freeman were among the many New Englander's taking part in this prestigious and grueling uphill battle against the mountain. Rob Bradlee, Keith Woodward and Jess Synder were just a few of the NENSA members who made it through the heat and the climbing. Kris was 15th overall and Justin 17th right behind his brother. 2010-06-22: Inaugural National J2 Camp Set for July 31-August 8th
The inaugural USSA National J2 Talent Camp will be conducted this July 31- August 8, 2010 on the campus of Michigan Technological University (MTU) in Houghton, Michigan. The camp will provide a great opportunity for many of the top young cross country skiers in the U.S. to train together and to learn from top USSA coaches and U.S. Ski Team staff.
