February 5, 2012, Rikert Women's Day CANCELED Rikert Nordic Center, Ripton, VT ()
Event Info:
Join us for a fun day on snow for women of all ability levels, from the seasoned racer to the true blue beginner. Learn to ski or hone your skills in ski clinics with some of the East's best female instructors. Snack on a tasty lunch, sign up to win raffle prizes, and meet other women who are interested in having fun outside!
Schedule of Events
8:45 - 9:30 Registration in the Team Room at Rikert Nordic Center.
Renters should come between 8:30-8:45.
10 – 4 Vendors and Suppliers will be on hand to demo and sell equipment and clothing.
10 -11:40 Ski Clinics on snow: Classical and Skate techniques, first-timers & beginners through Intermediate
11:45-1:15 Lunch Break - w/ prize drawings, wax talk, Intro to StrideWright Foundation
1:30-2:45 Afternoon Clinics in the same format as the morning.
2:45 - 3:30 Wrap up the Day: light refreshments; quick Question/Answers; Joanna Colwell - Yoga Stretches For Skiers; ongoing sale of raffle tickets for Grand Prize and winner drawing
Lunch & Snacks
Hot Beverages and snacks will be available in the morning and afternoon. Registrants may bring their lunch or pre-purchase a lunch ticket for $10. Please email Peggy Lyons (mlyons@middlebury.edu) by Thursday, February 3rd to reserve your lunch! Lunch will include salad, rolls, vegetarian chili, dessert and chocolate!
Rentals
Don't have your own skis? No problem! Equipment can be rented at the Rikert Touring Center for $15. Please call ahead (802-443-2744) to guarantee availability.

PLEASE reserve your lunch by Thursday. There is no guarantee after Thursday for lunches that aren't pre-ordered. Rentals are $15 and can be reserved by calling the Rikert Nordic Center (802-443-2744). Please call earlly for rentals to guarantee availability.

February 11, 2012, Flying Moose Classic Pine Hill Competition Trails, Bethel, ME (Zak, Club)
Event Info:
Sponsored by Bethel Outing Club. Classic technique, mass start at Gould Academy's Pine Hill Competition Trails. 7.5 km or 22km timed races. Registration at Gould Academy Field House, Bethel, Maine, from 9-10:30am. Youth/Bill Koch League events include lollipop, a 2.25km timed race or a 7.5 km untimed mini-marathon. (Youth wishing to ski longer timed distances must enter the adult event and pay the adult fee). All events are at 11 A.M with the exception of the lollipop which will start at 10:50.

February 11, 2012, Romance Half Marathon Race and Tour Rikert Nordic Center, Ripton, VT ()
Event Info:
Enjoy this classic technique half marathon on the beautiful wilderness trails of the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area on Feb 11, 2012. The course will depart from the Rikert Nordic Center and will accommodate both competitive racers and non-competitive tourists. Racers will have the option to ski the 15 km or 25 km loops and tourists will ski the 15km loop. Tourists will not be timed. This wilderness course is groomed specifically for this event and will include a portion of the 300-mile Catamount Trail. Following the race, all participants will enjoy a post race awards party with food and drink from local vendors, a raffle, and hand made stoneware race mugs for age group awards in the 25km competitive division. All participants will receive a Danforth Pewter souvenir heart pendent with the name of the race inscribed. Join the Catamount Trail Association, the Moosalamoo Association, and Rikert Nordic Center for this fun day of skiing on some of the most beautiful trails in New England.

$25.00 for the 15km Race or Tour before January 31st. $40.00 after January 31st. (raffle prizes, food, and Danforth Pewter souvenir heart race pendant)
$50.00 for the 25km Race before January 31st. $65.00 after January 31st. (Top three age group and overall stoneware race mugs, raffle prizes, food, and Danforth pendant)
Age groups as of race day: (12-13) (14-15) (16-17) (18-19) (20-29) (30-39) (40-49) (50-59) (60-69) (70+)
The event is open to the first 300 applicants.

Event Cancellation Policy:
The policy regarding refunds in the case of event cancellation is that fifty percent of the entry fee will be applied to your entry for the 2013 Romance Half Marathon Race and Tour. There will be no other refunds.

The BKL Silver Fox Trot race is held on the same day as the TD Bank North Silver Fox Trot Eastern Cup. The BKL race is for lollipoppers through 7/8 grade. It is a mass start skate (freestyle) race (by age group/gender class), except for the 1st/2nd graders, who will be skiing a classic race. Feburary 25, 2012, TD Bank Kids Ski Day Jay Peak Nordic Center, Jay, VT ()
Event Info:
Welcome to the TD Bank Kid's Ski Day at Jay Peak Resort, an action packed day of family Nordic fun for beginners and experts alike. Join us from 10:30-4:00 for loads of fun.
Our day begins at 10:30 a.m. with ongoing events like Nordic 9 hole Frisbee golf, Tour de Ullr's Cabin and The Rooster Tail Speed Zone. The "Never Ever" beginner area will be open all day for informal lessons. Register upon arrival for our main even,t "The Birch Glenn Mini Marathon" which will take place at 2:00 p.m.
Volunteers from the Catamount Trail Association will be on hand with a fleet of junior demo skis and plenty of information about getting out into the wild backcountry of Vermont on XC skis. Sample goodies from our Bill Koch League's bake sale or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy.
Adults bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the food shelf and get a full day trail pass for just $5.00! All kids ski for FREE! Discounts will be available for rental equiment and retail items.

February 26, 2012, TD Bank Kids Ski Day Moutain Top Nordic Center, Chittenden, VT ()
Event Info: Thanks to the continued generous funding from TD Bank, NENSA is able to offer Kids Ski Days again this winter! These days are designed to introduce families of all athletic backgrounds and abilities to the sport of cross country skiing. Activities can include but will not be limited to: slalom courses, radar gun speed testing, beanbag toss, mini-marathon, obstacle courses, organized group games (including the ever popular Feral Cat Tail Grab), treasure hunt, biathlon practice, and jumps. There will also be snacks and lots of general merriment.

The Aroostook Youth Ski Festival is all about celebrating the cool ways kids can move on a pair of cross-country skis! This half-day ski festival for youth ages 5-14 includes a terrain park, speed skiing, group games, double pole challenge, barrel sprints, and much more. The festival begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. Please bring your skis, boots, and poles. Ski equipment will also be available to borrow courtesy of Healthy Hometowns/MWSC.
