Dear Cross-Country Skiing Families,
We have enjoyed quite a winter across all of New England! More than one hundred NENSA members enjoyed perfect skiing at Le Foret Montmorency in Quebec, and only ten days later an early season storm blanketed most of the region with skiable snow.
Skiers responded to nature’s gift, and lifted their performance to the next level. Andy Newell and Kris Freeman grabbed top-five finishes in December World Cup action; New England athletes achieved the next level by skiing fast at US Nationals and were named to World Junior, World U23, J1 Scandinavian and World Cup teams; meanwhile at the grassroots level, Bill Koch League club leaders responded to our youth ski lease offer, taking advantage of NENSA’s support and TD Banknorth’s grant to outfit new skiers with skis, boots, and poles and help set a new membership record.
With this in mind, we are kicking off our Annual Fund Drive, calling it our To the Next Level campaign, and inviting you to help us make this the most successful in NENSA’s history.
Fifty dollars donated can strap another set of skis onto the feet of a brand-new young skiers; one-hundred dollars contributed can cover the costs of an Elite Team athlete attending one of our Elite and Development Team summer training camps; and larger donations truly allow us to think at a different level and plan new directions in our programs.
We are fortunate that TD Banknorth has continued as title sponsor, along with LL Bean and Trapp Family Lodge as Associate Sponsors. We thank them for their solid support over the years! But we need our members to lift us to the next level now. To build on NENSA’s programs, we need to make this our best Annual Fund campaign ever.
